Charming agriturismo in the Pachino tomato area

This agriturismo is quietly located between the greenhouses of the famous Pachino tomato, about a 15 minutes drive from the sea. They themselves have no agricultural activities, but the neighboring farms cultivate tomatoes, courgettes and melons on the surrounding fields. Beautiful towns such as Scicli, Modica, Ragusa Ibla and Noto are all within easy reach. After 25 years of being away from Sicily, to work in northern Italy with large multinationals, the owners returned to the island to realise this agriturismo. Everything has been rebuilt and restored with a view to sustainability. For example they are self-sufficient in electricity by solar panels on the roof. Still all rooms and apartments have air conditioning, so this has no impact comfort.

The owner has a passion for fabrics and you see it reflected in the interior of the agriturismo. The reception really seems more like a cozy clothing studio and on the high wall is a huge cactus fully realised in fabric. Also in the rooms are wall decorations of fabric, beautiful pillows and a colorful bedspreads.

The agriturismo has a spacious swimming pool with parasols and sun loungers. You can also relax in the shade under one of the big olive trees in the garden. Around the garden, the owner has an orto (vegetable garden) and on request, guests can pick fresh vegetables for their lunch or dinner. Breakfast is served on a cozy veranda overlooking the garden and consists of local (mostly organic) products.

 The rooms and apartments

The agriturismo has two apartments each with a living room and open kitchen on the ground floor and on the first floor 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. These apartments do not have a private terrace. The old wine storage has been beautifully converted into a loft apartment with a living room and open kitchen downstairs and an open loft with a double bed and bathroom on the first floor. This apartment has its own garden at the back of the farmhouse. Finally, there are 2 spacious double rooms and a superior double room. Each of them has a kitchenette with 2 hotplates. 

Families are welcome at the agriturismo but for the peace and quietness of the other guests children under the age of 3 are not allowed.
