Authentic agriturismo near the sea and dining in the courtyard

When I was searching for agriturismos in Sicily I had dinner at this one. I loved it and for me it was reason enough to include them in my selection! Sitting in the romantic courtyard of the old farm when you’re having dinner, you imagine yourself in a bygone Sicily. The waiters were very friendly and I had delicious Sicilian dishes such as ravioli with a pesto of pistachios. They also have a wide selection of local wines. The next morning I went back to check out the agriturismo also in daylight. From the car park you walk to the farm between citrus trees laden with lemons. The rooms are located around the courtyard as is the reception and the restaurant. Next to the farmhouse is a shaded garden with tables and chairs and a swimming pool with a bar for a cool drink.

The agriturismo is just 200 metres from the sea, but to get to a sandy beach it’s a short walk or you can take your car (800 metres). There you will find beach clubs with umbrellas and sunbeds and nice bars. It is a beautiful sandy beach and the sea gradually gets deeper, giving the water a beautiful blue colour! The charming town of Noto is only 10 minutes away by car and also the towns of Modica, Scicli and Ortigia Siracusa are within easy reach, as well as the picturesque fishing village Marzamemi.

Romantic dining

At the agriturismo they understand very well that guests do not just come to Sicily for the culture and the beach, but also for the delicious Sicilian cuisine. Every evening there is a menu of local specialities to choose from. Dining al fresco by candlelight in the ancient courtyard makes the picture complete! Breakfast is also served in the courtyard and you can wake up quietly with a cappuccino in the shade of a big bougainvillea.

The rooms

The agriturismo has several types of rooms, from standard to superior and junior suites. The difference is in location, size and room furnishings and equipment. Many rooms have their entrance right on to the courtyard, which becomes an open-air restaurant every night. Other rooms are located on the other side of the farmhouse, side by side in a row. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, minibar, kettle, satellite TV and wifi. The superior rooms and junior suites also have a Nespresso coffee machine.
