Wine estate in Piedmont with good food and fine wines
Upon arriving at this agriturismo, I was immediately captivated by the breathtaking views of the Barbera vineyards and surrounding hills. As I explored the property, I could even catch a glimpse of the Alps in the distance. Its location, close to Asti, makes it an ideal base for those looking to explore the region’s rich culture and gastronomy. Asti is renowned for its historic center, medieval towers, and the annual Palio, a traditional horse race usually held on the first Sunday of September. The area also offers numerous hiking and biking trails through vineyards and forests, and for sports enthusiasts, there are golf courses and riding stables nearby, about 20 to 30 minutes away by car. For those interested in day trips to larger cities, Milan, Turin, and Genoa are all about an hour and a half away.
Restaurant
Like much of Piedmont, Asti is a hub for the Slow Food movement, which celebrates locally produced, sustainable, and traditional cuisine. You’ll find many restaurants in the area that honor the region’s culinary heritage. The agriturismo itself features a charming restaurant, and there are three terraces around the property where you can enjoy candlelit dinners in good weather. Guests also have access to a shared living room, a bar, an outdoor bar, and a swimming pool with sun loungers.
The rooms
The agriturismo has 12 double rooms, all located on the first floor. Each room comes with a private bathroom, hairdryer, minibar, internet, and television. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
In short
This agriturismo is a lovely wine estate nestled in one of the most beautiful regions of Piedmont, making it an ideal destination for lovers of culture, fine food, and excellent wine. It’s worth noting, however, that this location is less suited for families with children.
