Agriturismo near a small lake and one hour from Rome
This beautiful agriturismo is located in a relatively unknown area, not only for My Italy, but also in terms of tourism. It is located in an undiscovered part of Italy and is therefore still authentic. I visited the agriturismo on a beautiful sunny autumn day and I was warmly welcomed by the owner and her mother. After a delicious espresso they showed me their agriturismo. It is strategically located: just an hour's drive from Rome (accessible by car to the edge of the city and from there by metro) and 25 kilometres from the beautiful city of Viterbo, known for its thermal baths. But there is also plenty to see in the vicinity, such as the castle of Orsini, the nature park "parco dei mostri" Bomarzo and Civita di Bagnoregio, a medieval castle located on a hilltop and only accessible by a long bridge on very high poles.
Lake with a beach
The agriturismo is close to a nice lake (part of it is also accessible on foot from the agriturismo) with (pebble and grass) beaches and bars. The owner of the agriturismo will be pleased to give you suggestions where the best beaches can be found and where you can swim. If you do not feel like swimming in the lake, the agriturismo has a nice swimming pool for its guests. There is also a large playground with playing field and football field for the little ones.
Apartments
The agriturismo has 9 apartments, not so big but well maintained and comfortable. Most apartments are so-called bilocale apartments, suitable for 2 to 4 people ( two sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room) and there is one apartment with two bedrooms, suitable for 4 to 6 people (again with two sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room). Each apartment has its own outside space with table and chairs and the apartments are equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, heating and a kitchen with four-burner stove and refrigerator.
Breakfast and swimming pool
In the large garden of the agriturismo there is a beautiful swimming pool, where each apartment has its own parasol and two sunbeds. For those who want to start the day with a good breakfast in the morning, you can enjoy breakfast upon reservation and for an additional fee (NB: not available in August, please have a look at the price list for the exact dates). If you decide to have breakfast here you can also taste the products of the agriturismo (hazelnuts jam, chestnuts jam and olive oil) or you can buy them at the reception.
In short
Friendly agriturismo with warm and hospitable owner, located near a lake and in a beautiful area of Italy that has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. Also a good base from which to visit Rome!
