Exceptionally beautiful agriturismo near Lago Maggiore

I am not easy to please when it comes to agriturismos and I pick my words with care, but hey, what a beautiful agriturismo this is! And certainly in the area of Lake Maggiore an agriturismo like this is unique. I had a warm reception and they took me right away to the garden from where you have truly breathtaking views of Lago d'Orta and the Alps beyond. They’ve made a little private road on their property, which takes you in just two kilometres down to the attractive town of Orta. You can walk there too.

The agriturismo belongs to two brothers who have made their mark in architecture. And that is reflected in the agriturismo, because all the apartments are built so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful view of the lake from their garden or balcony. In the village behind the agriturismo (1km) is a little shop with local specialties and in the morning fresh bread.

Of the lakes in northern Italy lake Orta is for many an undiscovered gem. But  Lago Maggiore is not far and charming towns like Arona, Stresa and Verbania are about 20 kilometres from the agriturismo. For groceries, shops, restaurants and an authentic centre you could also go to Borgomanero (12 km). The city of Novara is also worth a visit and in about an hour you are in Milan.

Comfortable apartments

In total there are 20 apartments and all are different in shape and interior. There are eleven 2-bedroom apartments and nine apartments with one bedroom. In some apartments one bedroom is separated from the living room and open kitchen by a curtain, to create one large bright room at daytime. The apartments have a kitchenette with dishwasher, microwave, two induction hobs and fridge. The apartments on the ground floor have a covered terrace and a separate piece of garden bordered with vines. The apartments on the first floor have a covered patio/balcony. All apartments have wifi, satellite TV, air conditioning and views of the garden, pool and lake.

Panoramic heated pool and wine cellar

The garden has a beautiful heated swimming pool with sunbeds. It is called an infinity pool so from the water you have beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Beside the pool is a veranda where on hot summer days one can cool off in the shade. Besides architecture, wine is the brothers’ second passion and so they have planted their own Nebbiolo vineyard in the garden. They also have a wine cellar, used as a bar, where you are welcome for a glass of wine or a wine tasting. The small gardens of the apartments are separated with vines, so at this agriturismo you stay literally in the vineyard. In the garden is also a small playground and a BBQ zone and there is ample parking.
