Enjoy Sicilian country life

This is the ideal agriturismo for those looking for beautiful nature and tranquility. It is a short drive inland, 25 km from Noto and 35 km from Siracusa. Here you can still enjoy the silence, the rustling of the wind, the chirping of the crickets and at night a sky full of stars. The organic agriturismo has pomegranates, olives, nuts and various types of Mediterranean herbs and is self-sufficient in its power needs, with solar panels on the roof. The farmhouse, situated on a hill with panoramic view, has been restored by a young couple and transformed into comfortable holiday accommodation. There is a large swimming pool of 8 x 18 metres and a separate hydromassage area. There is a communal terrace under a pergola between the olive trees and around the pool are sun beds and beach chairs. There is a small gym and a playground. The owners also live on site.

Dinners

Upon request and given sufficient interest, the owner cooks for her guests. Out of conviction they do not have a freezer  and she cooks everything fresh and as organic as possible. When I was there she went shopping immediately after my visit because in the afternoon she already starts preparing dinner. The price for a menu is about 25 euro per person, excluding drinks. The owner has a nice selection of local Sicilian wines and will be happy to help you make a good choice.

Authentic Sicily

6 km from the agriturismo is a small authentic village where Sicilian life is still under way. Highly recommended are the Arancini (rice snack) at the bar in the main square and the cheerful baker in Via Roma is also worth a visit. When I was there, the bakery was filled with customers and he had them taste delicious freshly baked lemon cake and typical Sicilian biscuits. He seems to do that quite often, so if you are in the area, be sure to pay him a visit!

The rooms

On the first floor, the agriturismo has five modern double rooms and one triple room, each with private bathroom, minibar and air conditioning. On the ground floor there are two family rooms consisting of 2 bedrooms with a double bed and a private veranda with table and chairs. In one family room, the two bedrooms are separated by an open passage, in the other family room the two bedrooms are separated by a door.
