Charming agriturismo in the heart of Chianti, between Florence and Siena
This agriturismo is located in the middle of the Chianti area, perched on a hilltop surrounded by cypress trees, vineyards, and ancient olive groves. Situated at 400 meters altitude, it offers a beautiful view over the Tuscan countryside. The access road is an 800-meter unpaved path with some potholes, but even with an ordinary car like mine, it's manageable if you drive slowly — and it's absolutely worth it! It’s an old, typical farmhouse borgo, now perfect for a peaceful holiday in Tuscany. At the same time, its central location makes it ideal for exploring the area. You’ll find the agriturismo nestled between two stunning Tuscan cities: Florence and Siena.
Florence is famous for its art and culture. You can visit for example the museum Galleria degli Uffizi, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Ponte Vecchio bridge, known for its many jewelry shops. But the city has so much more to offer: there are plenty of boutiques, excellent restaurants, and wine bars. One day is not enough to see it all!
Siena, known for the Il Palio horse race, has a medieval charm and is my favorite city. Wander through its narrow streets, shop along Banchi di Sopra, and enjoy a coffee or aperitivo in the famous Piazza del Campo. For a simple yet delicious lunch among locals, visit Pulcino restaurant on Via dei Termini — my favorite spot in Siena for lunch!
Discover Tuscany and the local wines
Thanks to the agriturismo’s prime location, you can easily visit Tuscan villages and sample some of the region’s finest wines. Greve in Chianti, with its charming central square, is renowned for its wine production. Radda and Gaiole are delightful villages that retain their medieval character and offer stunning views of the surrounding hills. These places also boast excellent wines! San Gimignano, with its medieval towers, is another must-see. While there, don’t miss the award-winning Dondoli gelato shop, famous for its unique flavors of ice cream. The line may be long, but the delicious gelato is well worth the wait!
The apartments
The five apartments are cozy and comfortably furnished, each with its own distinctive style. They are either spread over two floors or located entirely on the second floor. The décor combines modern elements with vintage details, creating a unique atmosphere. Some bathrooms are a bit small, and the ceilings in the ground-floor apartments are lower, but each has its own charm. Every apartment has Wi-Fi and a private outdoor space.
Swimming pool and wine tastings
The pool is beautifully positioned, offering views of the valley — an ideal spot to relax on one of the sunbeds. For wine lovers, the agriturismo’s wine cellar is just 800 meters away, where you can taste Chianti wines produced on-site. The owners are also happy to recommend excellent local restaurants and scenic hiking trails, some of which start right at the accommodation.
In short
This agriturismo is perfect for those looking to stay centrally in Tuscany. The area is a paradise for wine lovers, featuring a variety of vineyards and wineries close at hand. It’s also an excellent base for visiting Florence, Siena, and other beautiful Tuscan cities. A place where you can truly unwind and leave your worries behind!
